Been practicing since approx 2018

I have had years of experience in personal renovations and remodels, from small single-room projects to basement finish and entire-house projects. I excel at visualizing new possibilities in "hopeless" spaces, and love using 2D and 3D modeling software, such as AutoCAD and Revit, to communicate my ideas and plans to others. My personal experiences have led me to work with a range of potential clients, including special needs and gifted thinkers. I have a bachelor's degree in psychology and love working with interesting people that others may have labeled difficult.

Get To Know Me!

When did you realize you had a passion for your profession?

I have been interested in interior design for as long as I can remember. As a young child, I remember my friends playing with their dolls while I spent my time designing the dolls' homes. As a teenager, I rearranged the furniture in my own bedroom on about a quarterly basis. When I bought my first house, I began kitchen demolition within two weeks - before I had even finished unpacking boxes. I am never without a project because I have a deep personal need to improve, restore and create.

Interior Design Professionals are typically experienced with a variety of styles. Describe your favorite spaces you have created:

My favorite project was a basement finish project on my own home. Because there were no external limits on what I could create, I had free reign to try some amazing things and it really paid off. The final space was comfortable, functional and so much fun, including a step-down theater, full gym with sauna and attached bathroom and more. With a little creativity in sourcing and a lot of elbow grease, a limited budget can still accomplish amazing things!

Favorite places you have visited that sparked your artistic side or inspired you to design:

Asia - There is such a wide variety! From the minimal and functional balance of Japanese design ( I confess I have not been to Japan - yet!) to the incredibly rich handmade indigo prints and embroidered cloths of the Hmong, Dao and Thai hill tribes in Vietnam (yes, I have been there!) there is so much artistry and beauty to be found in both the simple and the complex design philosophies.

Italy - History, art, sophistication - what more can I say? Italy is vibrant, effusive in its welcome. The zest for living is almost palpable. I feel like Italy is a place I could wander forever and never grow bored. The Duomo in Florence is one of my very favorite places because of the commitment you can see in its construction. There is no plain, hidden corner to be found in that building; those who designed it poured so much passion into making every inch of the cathedral beautiful. As a polar opposite, the boxy and boldly colored homes of the Cinque Terra, clinging stubbornly to their seaside cliffs, bring a smile to my face every time I see them featured on a postcard, puzzle or picture. Like many famous architects and designers before me, I find an endless variety of inspiration in Italy.

Spain - I love Spain for its intensity. The red and black twirling of a flamenco dancer, the withering Seville heat, the melancholy of Picasso's "Old Guitarist" ...Spain is a sometimes-chaotic blend of culture, color, mood and food that welcomes you and invites you to become part of the family.
