Get To Know Me!
When did you realize you had a passion for your profession?
I have been artistic and loved manual activities since I was little, and come from a very artistically inclined family. This has translated itself into a natural skill for color, balance, proportion and spatial awareness. I decided to study Industrial Design and have not stopped creating objects and designing spaces since .
Interior Design Professionals are typically experienced with a variety of styles. Describe your favorite spaces you have created:
My favorite spaces that I have created are those that are open and allow an effortless flow, with a defined color palette and where you can see contrast either through color, through visual or palpable textures, or the combination of natural and man made materials.
Favorite places you have visited that sparked your artistic side or inspired you to design:
Alden B Dow. home in Midland, MI / Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao / News Museum in Washington DC / Moma in NY
These homes, buildings and museums, exemplify for me the use of material, color, light, balance and proportion in the objects, furnishings and architectural structure.
The Alden B Dow home is my all time favorited, a midcentury modern family home and architectural studio immersed within a creek and inherent to its natural surroundings, made of avante garde materials and structures as well as furnishings, a truly amazing inspiration.
Your top 3 favorite foods to eat if all food was equally healthy:
Chocolate Cake
Mango
Steak and fries.
Any other languages you are fluent in?
Spanish
Fun fact about you:
I have an enriching multicultural background not only because my upbringing in 2 completely different countries, but because I have a Swedish, Finish, Irish, Scottish, Spanish, Porto Rican and Colombian background, so I jokingly tend to call myself a "mixed up kid" but this has definitely contributed to having a more open and diverse point of view of the world.
