Experience declared:

-Bachelors of Science in Studio Art with a Painting Concentration
-Practicing Artist since 2014

I work in various media, including painting, sculpture, textiles, and printmaking. My work ranges from minimalist to "maximilist"—it all depends on what story I am trying to tell with my work. Pattern and color are fundamental to my art practice; I do not shy away from them, but make sure they are seamlessly integrated into whatever project I am working on. Color theory is a strength of mine, and I have found it is essential to harness the power of colors to create compelling moods and narratives. Floral motifs are found throughout my work; this pays homage to my lifelong love of gardening, which made way for a passion for flower arranging. My floral design skills have mostly remained in the realm of personal pursuits, but I have done the floral designs for one wedding, and several proms. I have found my technical painting training lends itself well to crafting sophisticated floral compositions.

Get To Know Me!

When did you realize you had a passion for your profession?

When I was eight years old I declared I was going to be an artist. Growing up, I frequently joined my aunt in her studio where she taught me a variety of techniques at a young age. I was always painting, any chance I got. I entertained many different paths as I grew up: I considered being a lawyer, a doctor, a farmer, a midwife. But through it all, I always remained an artist. By the time I got to college, I had realized art was pretty much the cornerstone of who I was and that all of those other interests merely served to inspire my artistic practice, and so I surrendered to my passion and pursued a degree in fine arts. It has been a wonderful journey and I feel eternally grateful to see the world through an artist's lens and contribute to enriching the world with beauty.

Interior Design Professionals are typically experienced with a variety of styles. Describe your favorite spaces you have created:

I create mixed-media, abstracted landscapes. I often incorporate floral motifs and patterns and explore themes of mythology and ecology in my work. I like to create work intended for people's bedrooms. It is an intimate and sacred space that, above any other space, should feel like a sanctuary to its inhabitant. It is a privilege to help facilitate that through my art.

Favorite places you have visited that sparked your artistic side or inspired you to design:

I spent a semester in Florence, Italy, studying with a textile designer who specialized in repeat pattern design. He taught me to look everywhere for inspiration. We would walk around the city and he would point out anything from crown molding to sewage grates to show me how beautiful and ornate they were, and how I could incorporate it into my textiles. It changed my entire perception of the world and opened my eyes and my heart to the little muses all around me

Your top 3 favorite foods to eat if all food was equally healthy:

Vindaloo, pasta, and tangerines

Any other languages you are fluent in?

 I know some Italian

Fun fact about you:

I am a trained birth doula!
